About the Artist:
January Atkinson's art studio is located in the wilderness of Council, Idaho. She provides a home to many animals, tropical birds, fish, and plants. January is a self-taught artist who paints primarily with acrylics and watercolors. Her speciality in her artwork is capturing detailed realism. January's other works include the illustrations to a published book on herbal plant remedies by Darcy Williamson entitled "Healing Plants of the Rocky Mountains" and a watercolor series of portraits capturing the People of Nepal. Her more complex art pieces contain many sea creatures, animals and/or insects giving the viewer a unique experience each time the mural is seen. You may spot a sea horse or crab lurking in the coral reef. A hawk moth caterpillar or red-eyed tree frog - never before noticed - may suddenly appear from the hidden, dark recesses of the jungle. Come enter her world. |
